PC to Mac Job Aids
Tools: Canva
Time: 1.5 hours per job aid
Client: Priority Technology Holdings
Priority Technology Holdings sends about 70% of new hires Apple equipment to use, and facilitators in the Onboarding team noticed some employees having difficulty learning to use a MacBook.
Using Canva, I designed 3 job aids to help employees learn and remember trackpad and mouse gestures and Chrome hotkeys. The color scheme and fonts match the company's branding at the time to fit in with the rest of the learning materials they are presented with.
These job aids are included in the New Hire Onboarding learning path in the company's LMS, and is viewed or downloaded on average 15 times a month.
Tools: Canva, Storyset
Time: 10 hours
Client: AT Unlimited (imaginary client for portfolio purposes)
Collaborators: IDOL Courses Academy
AT Unlimited wanted a deliverable to go along with their requested Rise course (viewable here) that quickly displayed the dos and don'ts of inclusive communication with deaf and hard of hearing (HoH) employees.Â
Using Canva, I designed a dos and don'ts job aid managers can use as a quick reference after completing the Rise course. It includes 4 dos and don'ts each, all focusing on ways to communicate. Illustrations were obtained from Storyset.com.
Since this is a portfolio piece, results will not be collected. However, if this were to be used by a real company, it is suggested that the outcomes be discussed in a regular one-on-one meeting or survey 2-3 weeks after implementation. This will give the managers time to commit the practices from the course into their every day actions before being evaluated.
